JanSuraksha APP to apply for insurance policies - PMJJBY – Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PMSBY – Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. JanSuraksha is a Social Security Insurance initiative launched by PM Shri Narendra Modi to provide affordable access to essential Social Security Insurance protection in a convenient manner. Using this app, customers can apply under PMJJBY or PMSBY insurance schemes. PMJJBY is a life insurance scheme launched in 2015 by GOI to provide financial aid to the families of the insured in case of their sudden death. The PMJJBY is available to people in the age group of 18 to 50 years having a bank account who give their consent to join/enable auto-debit. The life cover of Rs. 2 lakhs shall be for the one-year period stretching from 1st June to 31st May and will be renewable. Risk coverage under this scheme is for Rs. 2 Lakh in case of death of the insured, due to any reason. The premium is auto-debited in one installment from the subscriber’s bank account as per the option given by him on or before 31st May of each annual coverage period under the scheme. Premium based on the Insurance policy start date: 1st June to 31st Aug – Full Annual Premium is payable 1st Sept to 30th Nov – pro rata premium is payable 1st Dec to 28th/29th Feb – pro rata premium is payable 1st Mar to 31st May – pro rata premium is payable PMSBY is an accidental insurance scheme backed by the Indian government. The Scheme is available to people in the age group 18 to 70 years with a bank account who give their consent to join/enable auto-debit on or before 31st May for the coverage period 1st June to 31st May on an annual renewal basis. The risk coverage under the scheme is Rs. 2 lakh for accidental death and permanent disability and Rs. 1 lakh for partial disability. The premium is to be deducted from the account holder’s bank account through an ‘auto-debit’ facility in one installment. How does Jansuraksha make your life easier 1.Register on the APP through while selecting a scheme PMJJBY or PMSBY. 2.Select Bank that you have an account with. If you have more than one bank account with different banks, you can select any one bank of your choice. 3.Provide your bank account number and date of birth. An SMS with verification code will be sent by the bank to your registered mobile number. 4.Customer needs to set a username and password after that a page will be displayed – User registration completed. 5.All your details will be displayed on the screen, verify them once. You can insert your nominee details if you do not have a nominee associated with the bank account or wish to change the existing nominee. 6.Customers need to read the terms and conditions carefully regarding insurance premium payments. After reading the terms and conditions, click on “I Agree”, then a verification code will be sent to your mobile number again. 7.Complete the verification via the code sent. Finally, a Certificate of Insurance (COI) will be displayed on your screen. Customers can download the Certificate of Insurance. The app is only for buying insurance policies under PMJJBY and PMSBY. For Insurance Claim registration process, the customer must visit the respective bank branch. Customers can apply for an Insurance Policy under PMSBY or PMJJBY insurance schemes through the Jansuraksha app provided the customer has an active account with the respective bank.
